Kenzie + John | New Years Eve Wedding in Fort Myers
You are in for a TREAT with this New Years Eve wedding! I cannot tell you how joyful and fun this was to photograph! From the disco theme throughout, to the love their family & friends showered them with…this was an epic day. I was so honored to be their Florida wedding photographer.
Kenzie and John were resilient from the very beginning of this process. While they planned so much of this day themselves, and poured SO many personal details into the experience…their plans were derailed by Hurricane Ian. Their original venue was destroyed in the damage, and they had to pivot quickly. They, like many of my couples, took it in stride, and created a new vision for their new venue. Their New Years Eve wedding ended up being such an amazing event, despite the change of plans.
Kenzie runs an embroidery company, so she handmade a custom denim jacket for herself (seriously, you’ll wanna scroll to see it!). She also lovingly planned all the details. As in - she literally MADE all the decorations and florals. I KNOW. She’s Wonder Woman.
I loved the wedding party palette too - bridesmaids in pastel colors and groomsmen in tan. It photographed so well! If you’re doing a Summer or Spring wedding, make sure to check it out!
They got ready separately, and opted to do a first look & capture portraits during golden hour. Their ceremony took place after dark, which is unusual for me as a photographer, but I loved the challenge & how the images turned out. Plus we got to do night portraits in front of the old fashioned car Kenzie used to arrive to the ceremony. How cool is that? I’m obsessed with how all the images turned out, please tell me you’ll look all the way through! Oh, and Kenzie did an outfit change before the after-dark portraits and I LOVED her second dress. And those kicks!?! Amazing.
Then, these two hosted an amazing New Years Eve party/reception for all their friends and family.
From custom neon signs, to the light up 2023 glasses…their guests clearly had the time of their lives. After all the upheaval I know John and Kenzie had to go through to make their magical day happen… it was such a joy to see the celebration. Partying with you on your happiest day never gets old for me as a wedding photographer.
One thing I tell all my couples…no matter what hiccups you face along the way - your wedding is about YOU…and you will get to marry the love of your life. (And I’ll be there as your third wheel to document it haha)
