Jodie + Brad | Picnic On The Beach Engagement Session

Jodie and Brad wanted to do a picnic on the beach for their engagement session! They are getting married in Naples next October, and they wanted to capture those laid-back beachy vibes for this session. When I tell you we had the MOST fun… we truly did! We spent golden hour laughing and frolicking on the sand. I think that’s my love language as a Florida wedding photographer! Sign me up for any and all beach sessions!

These two lovebirds started off their session in their more “formal” outfits (a term we are using loosely for an ocean side session ;) But they looked like freakin’ models! Jodie wore a cream long-sleeved, floor length knit dress, which was a nice nod to her bridal era. And Brad complemented her perfectly with a green/gray sweater and khakis. I always recommend neutrals at the beach, and these two knocked it out of the park. The neutrals allow a chance for the ocean views to be a part of the color landscape of the photos, and have everything look cohesive!

A champagne toast was definitely on the menu for this picnic on the beach - and these two shared a glass to celebrate this moment in their lives!

They set up a little blanket, and then we decided to do a little dip in the water before changing outfits. I will always be in love with couples portraits IN the water. It’s the perfect, carefree, so-in-love-don’t-care-who-knows-it vibe!

After playing around in the water and having some fun, we did a quick outfit swap. Jodie opted for denim and a white blouse for a really timeless look. And Brad went for a button down with a white tee underneath- one of my favorite photo looks for men! We took lots of photos under the setting sun, because golden hour was NOT PLAYING AROUND this evening. The cotton candy skies were showing off all kinds of colors for these two. I’ll forever be obsessed with their gallery. Just make sure you scroll to see what I’m talking about!

We wrapped up our picnic on the beach with a little custom cake with their wedding date on it and some Polaroid photos. It couldn’t have been a more perfect day!
